Acknowledgement: Professor Karl Schmidt

The ideas behind scholia come from a talk given by Professor Karl Schmidt of the School of Mathematics at Cardiff University. In that talk Karl described his approach to category-based marking and demonstrated the tools he had built to support it. Scholia is my attempt to provide a reusable implementation of what he presented.

I am grateful to Karl for sharing his approach so openly (and for being a wonderful teacher of mine during my undergraduate degree).
